Divinely Sinister

Casey smiled as did Domino, who chuckled ever so slightly.

"What are you doing here?" The woman asked with a think Spanish accent. "I'm here to fulfill the prophecy." Savannah told her.

Daniel watched the little family reunion.

Domino smiled at them, with a nod.

The woman glanced at the boys and Casey. "Mama, you remember Casey, right?" Savannah said. "Of course." She said. "How are you doing Casey?"

Daniel kind of shrank back, he was super shy and he was meeting royalty for god's sake.

"I'm doing fine." Casey smiled. "It's good to see you, again."

Domino gulped, swallowing a lump in his throat.

"This is Daniel," Savannah said gesturing towards him. "Nice to meet you." "The pleasure's all mine..." He didn't know what to call her. "Please, call me Maria." She said. Daniel nodded.

"Mama, this is Domino. He's my boyfriend," Savannah said nervously. Maria looked him over and nodded stiffly. "Mamá no seas así. Él y yo nos amamos." Savannah said slowly. "Mija, no sé acerca de él. Cuando usted está de regalías que no tienen voz en el amor." Maria said. "Tú sabes que papá ya se me repudió. Ni siquiera importa." Savannah whined.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Maria." Domino stated politely.

Casey pulled her hands from her pockets and crossed her arms.

Maria seemed to glare at him a bit before going back to argue with Savannah. "Pensé que ser más comprensivos que esto!" Savannah said. "No quiero que cometer el mismo error, como lo hizo tu padre." Savannah's eyes welled up with tears. "So I'm a mistake?" She whispered. "No, Mija, I didn't mean it like that." Maria said before Savannah ran off.

Daniel looked in the direction that Savannah had run off.

"Sav..." Domino called softly, before taking off after her.

Casey looked up to Maria. "What did you say to her?"

"I-I chose my words wrong. She said that she thought I'd be more understanding. I said that I didn't want her to make the same mistake as her father, meaning to be with a mortal and have to deal with all of this. She knows that if I had never met her father that she wouldn't be here right now...you can understand how the rest happened." Maria said.

Savannah was running down a hallway, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Casey scowled. "She loves him. He's the first to take her as she is and accept it fully."

Domino grasped onto her upper arm and pulled her into his chest. "Shh.." He whispered.

Savannah sobbed into his chest. "Mi corazón. Te amo." She whispered through the sobs.

"But marrying a mortal is so risky," Maria said.

"She can change that if she becomes the ruler, can she not?"

Domino lifted her chin, and pecked her lips. "I may be mortal, but we'll get through this. I'm going to protect you."

"Even if she does become ruler, she really has no power over the Council of Elders." Maria said.

"I love you...so much." She whispered, tears still rolling down her cheeks.

"Then wwhat's the point of a ruler?"

Domino closed his eyes, pulling her closer. "I love you too."

"I'm still a mortal Casey. I was not told much. All I know is that the power is in numbers." maria said, sighing.

She heard more footsteps and she quickly wiped away the tears. "Come on, we have to hide." Savannah whispered, opening the nearest door and stepping inside. It was her old bedroom.

Domino nodded, following.

Casey sighed.

She gingerly closed the door behind him and listened as the footsteps got fainter. Once they were gone she turned to him. "This is my old room," Savannah said.

"Casey, I trust you. All I want to know is this, would Domino ever hurt Savannah?"

Domino looked around. "It's nice."

"No, not ever!" She replied.

Savannah sat down on the bed. "It was only seven years ago that my father ad officially disowned me." Savannah said, running her finger along the edge of the bed.

Maria nodded. "Come, I'll show you the rooms you'll be staying in." Maria said, going the way that Savannah had run off.

Domino nodded, kissing her forehead before sitting down beside her as he listened to her speak.

Casey nodded and took Dan's arm, bringing him along.

"Before that I was treated as I was, royalty. Unfortunately for him he made the mistake of throwing me a Princess Ball the year before he disowned me. A Princess Ball is a celebration of a Princess finally being able to take part in royal issues. I finally saw what monsters we really are. All they talked about is the fact that a few Phoenix's had told humans of their existence and other things about us not being a secret anymore. I knew plenty of mortals so I thought nothing of it. But these mortals that I knew were sworn to secrecy and the only reason they kept that secret was because they were in love with one of us."

Daniel followed along as Maria led them down a long hallway.

"Like me with you?" Domino asked.

Casey looked around.

"Yes. And do you want to know what my father announced at the Princess Ball?"

Maria stopped in front of two doors across the hall from where Savannah's room is. "These will be your rooms." Maria stated. Daniel looked around in awe, the whole castle was beautiful.

"What did he announce?" Domino asked her.

Casey nodded. "Thank you, Maria."
